Chris Fribbins has been a Parish Councillor in Cliffe and Cliffe Woods continuously since 1984 and is in his second spell as Chair.
He is also Vice-Chair of Dicken’s Country Protection Society (DCPS) an amenity society formed in 1972 to protect the area previously covered by Strood Rural District Council which was abolished in 1974 with land on the Hoo Peninsula and Cuxton & Halling transferred to Rochester-Upon-Medway City Council and latterly the Medway Unitary Authority. Higham, Shorne, Cobham, Meopham and Luddesdown transferred to Gravesham District Council.
He was Labour Councillor on Rochester-upon-Medway and the Medway Unitary Authority from 1987 to 2000 and chaired a number of major committees including Planning, Development Services and Finance.
He is currently a member of the National Board of Directors of Railfuture (a national campaign group for Rail) and secretary of its London & South Eastern Branch.
Employed since 1973 in IT and currently in a project management consultant role with Network Rail.
A member of Cliffe Woods Community Association (CWCA) for many years and past Chair.
Actively involved in the local community and past governor at the local primary and secondary schools.
